I think Daniel Powter couldn't have said it better when he said, "They tell me your blue skies fade to gray." When you have a bad day it's like the whole world turns gray and you become very overwhelmed. You just want to curl up in a ball and sleep the day away. As a young adult in college that could be very difficult, you have homework to do and classes to attend and social life to uphold. You don't have time to just sleep the day away. I recently had a bad day, my car had damage due to a hit and run, I lost my phone, my temper got the better of me and I yelled at a friend. I just wanted the day to end, but luckily I had some great coping skills to help me get through my day and I would like to share 5 of those coping skills that help me get through the day!

1. Find an outlet to release the anger and/or anxiety.

I like to go to the gym and run out all of the negative thoughts. For some people, that's not their thing. Try writing or drawing, whatever makes you feel relaxed and release your anxiety.

2. Take a nap.

I said earlier that you shouldn't sleep the day way, but taking a nap could turn your day around! I'm not saying take a five-hour nap. Take about an hour nap, it will turn your day around. It's like a little restart to your day.

3. Don't be too hard on yourself!

Let's face it, we all have bad days. Some days are even better than others. Don't try and ignore the fact that something bad happened. Fail a test? Take a deep breathe and realize that it sucks to fail a test, but there will be others. Accept that today is a little harder than other days and that this is only one day out 365 days. Be nice to yourself!

4. Pray

Pray that you will have a better day tomorrow and tell God about your struggles so he can help you get through the rest of your day. Some of you might not be the religious type, but talking to someone about your day will help. Vent to someone that loves you and tell them today sucks! Talk about how much better tomorrow will be. Just think, you will never have to relive this day ever again.

5. "Shake it off"

Like Taylor, shake it off. Shake off the bad day. Dance around like a crazy person and throw back your head and just laugh until you can breath! Like I said you will only have to go through this day once! So, grab some friends and have a little party!

Let's face it everyone has a bad day, and bad days suck. When you have a bad day you just want the day to end, but just because your day started off bad doesn't mean it can't end in a wonderful way! Also, don't take your bad days to seriously, you are trying the best you can so give your heart and brain a break and just laugh the bad away. I use these coping skills every time I have a bad day and they help! I hope that you can use these the next time you have a hard day.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
