5 Ways To Make 2017 Better Than 2016

As 2016 has finally come to a close, I still have mixed feelings. A year that brought me so many tears also brought me a few amazing things that I can bring into the new year with me.

God always presents you with new opportunities in ways that may not seem so great, but when you take a step back, you'll realize everything happens for a reason.

1. Don't pretend to be friends with someone you actually don't like

Even if it's your only friend, if they don't treat you with respect, leave them in 2016 with the rest of your memories. God has shown me who my true friends are in the past year and I listened. If they don't hit you up to hang out more than once a month, say goodbye.

2. Take care of yourself

Go to the gym, eat healthier and laugh more. Health is an important factor to many other things in your life. When you take care of yourself, others will treat you right because they see how much you care about yourself and your happiness.

3. Treat yo self

In the words of Donna and Tom, treat yo self. Because why not? You deserve to have the things that you want in life, as long as you work hard for them. Make an effort to buy yourself that expensive dress, but also work hard in the gym to make sure you look killer in it.

4. Hang out with your family

They love you unconditionally and do everything they can to make you happy, so take a night off from hanging out with your friends and just chill with your loved ones. They love you, so show them you love them too.

5. Stop judging

Stop judging everyone for what they do, who they talk to or anything at all. It's non existent of your business what another person chooses to do and you have no right to judge them for it. Stop judging people who voted for Trump, they have reasons why they like him. Stop judging people for what they wear, maybe it's the only thing they can afford. Stop judging people for who they date, maybe they really love them. Stop judging people for how they live their life if it makes them happy.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
