Beginning to write is a hard process in normal circumstances and it's even worse when you have writer's block. Here are some easy ways to rid yourself of the worst mindset of a writer

1. Begin a Journal

Catalogue your day in whatever way you feel fit. Do not sensor yourself and do not edit yourself. This way you can find your writing style and find comfort in writing.

2. Look on blogging sites

Places like Tumblr and Pinterest are riddled with ideas and artistry. Scroll through photography blogs; there is bound to be something that catches your eye and sparks something in you to write.

3. Read a book (or three)

Reading other’s writing is crucial to being a writer. You can see another person's style and characters and find some creativity in it. Write fan-fiction about a minor character or write a poem about how the character feels. These get your creative juices flowing, so you can move on to original work

4. Take a walk or a jog

Get out of the room you have been sitting in for an hour staring at your blank piece of paper. It is hard to think of something when you have been so focused on trying to write. Sometimes just going outside to clear your head and let your thoughts flow is the best thing for you.

5. Find a good prompt to write from

A good prompt generator is easily found on the internet. Prompts give you enough focus for your writing that you have an idea, but vague enough that it gives you leeway to write as you please.

And remember, do not stress. All the great writers have gotten writer's block in their day. Look at George R.R. Martin. He has taken around six years to finish his latest book; he's still not done and that's okay. Go at your own pace and one day you will find your inspiration, whether it is from this list or in your own way.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
