Everyone has suffered from stress, whether it is because of work, college or any other factors. Stress is common and many people know what stress is all about. However, does everyone know how they can cope with stress? How can we live without this feeling of despair and thinking "how are we going to get certain things done?" This is where this article comes in; to help individuals think of certain ways to reduce and relieve stress so that it does not affect them and their lives. Here are five ways you can cope with stress:

1. Take care of yourself by eating healthy, exercising on a regular basis and getting plenty of sleep.

Stress usually can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle which can result in weight gain. If you follow this step, you avoid these consequences.

2. Talk to a friend, family member, counselor or anyone else you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts with.

It’s not always a good thing to keep thoughts to yourself and bottle them up inside. If you tell someone you trust about what you are going through, that could lead to relieving the weight you carry off your shoulders. Social engagement is an efficient way of relieving stress.

3. Stop doing what you are doing now and take a break.

Overworking yourself can lead to stress, therefore if you allow yourself to take breaks, you will feel much better.

4. If you find it difficult to avoid a stressful situation, try to change or alter the way you operate in your daily life.

Sometimes there are things that are stressful for you, but you continuously do those same things over and over again. If you can alter the daily things you do, then it can help you feel less stressful.

5. This may be one of the most difficult ways to cope with stress, but sometimes you have to just accept the things you cannot change.

Some of the things that cause stress are unavoidable, such as a death of a loved one or a serious illness. These are the things you simply cannot change and must accept this fate. When you are faced with many challenges, try to look at them as a sense of personal growth.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
