It's that time of year again when all the work you've put in the last 3 to 4 months all comes crashing back down on you in a week full of final exams. If you're stressed, sleep deprived or struggling to remember why you went to college you're certainly not alone. But have no fear, I am here to help. Although finals are just about the last thing you look forward to right before Christmas, I have compiled a list of 5 ways for you to actually enjoy finals week.

1. Get together with your favorite people and form a study group.

Grab your crew, squad or whatever you call yourselves and get together to study. There's something about being with a bunch of other people doing equally unpleasant things that allows you a bit of ease. Not to mention human interaction is a great thing when you spend the majority of your time with your face in a book.

2. Don't overdo it.

Don't get me wrong, studying is important, but there is nothing worse than over doing it and pulling one too many all-nighters only to later fall flat on your face. Make sure you're taking care of yourself first.

3. Don't stop doing things you love.

Whether it's sports, reading or just laying around and watching Netflix, be sure that you include some of your favorite things in your day so that you don't feel incredibly overwhelmed and miserable. Finals week doesn't have to be only studying, so go ahead and take a break. You deserve it.

4. Call your family and friends.

Don't shut yourself out from the outside world. Make sure you're keeping in touch with your friends and family because sometimes hearing their words of encouragement will be the extra bit of motivation that you needed.

5. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Regardless of your score, just know that the world will keep spinning and life will go on. The reality is that you're not perfect and chances are you're going to make a few (or more than a few) mistakes in your lifetime. And that is totally okay. Luckily for college students, there are second chances if it doesn't go your way this time around. It's not the end of the world.

I am wishing you all a successful and hopefully minimal stress week of finals! And at the end of the day, if all else fails, fake it till you make it. In the words of Ross Geller...

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
