Why do people assume that just because it's the holiday season, your attitude may no longer be courteous? What the actual Hell?
Normally, people don't bother me. Being hard of hearing in both ears has its perks. However, there is something about the holidays that makes people go nuts. Maybe it's the primal hunter from our days as neanderthals rearing its head after being shuffled away from centuries as being a "civilized" man. So, as a retail/food service worker, here's a list for anyone who has never worked in the general public.
1. Quit Shoving
Quit pushing past people. There are plenty of televisions on sale throughout the entire Lehigh Valley. Do not shove the old lady trying to fix her cap and grab the last Barbie for their grandchild.
2. Be Polite
Quit yelling at the poor salesperson who says they're out of the last hot toy of the season (i.e. Hatchables).
3. There Is No Secret Room
I don't know why people assume it, but if it's out on the floor, that is all there is. There is no secret back room where you magically enter Narnia and get all you desire.
4. Be Courteous
The workers at the store don't want to be there as much as you want to be shoving Grandma for the last Hatchable. Be nice to them, and just maybe, like a good person, they'll be a little more helpful to you.
5. Get Off the Phone
Please, please, please, please, get off your phone in the checkout line. More often than not, the hold up in lines is the person at the front who just can't seem to end their phone call and keeps giving the cashier the one minute finger. Don't be that guy.
