We all have those days when we just want to scream our lungs out because of the day we had. Let's take a quick breather and get our minds straight. Staying stressed will only make the day longer and harder. So, if it's stress from work, class or other, these activities will help you forget about the day you had.

1. A Soft Murmur

A Soft Murmur was created by Gabriel Martin, with the help of others. This website comes with 10 different sounds (as shown above) you can mix and match to your liking. By adjusting the white volume bars under each specific sound, you are able to create your own natural playlist, essentially. You can create multiple settings such as, thunder storms with the crackling of a warm fire, a windy night with the crickets chirping and even a coffee shop with birds playing outside. There's so many more combinations to make yourself! A Soft Murmur is also available on Android; as the Apple version for iPhones and iPads are coming soon!

2. Peaceful Cuisine

Peaceful Cuisine is a YouTube channel created and managed by Ryoya Takashima. Ryoya, currently lives in Japan and creates elegant, astounding cooking videos (among other videos) that would be considered ASMR. ASMR stands for "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response," which in short means a feeling you get from hearing very high quality, crisp noises. Essentially some of Ryoya's videos, which contain common noises you hear and don't hear while cooking, become high definition. You can hear each piece of salt hitting the metal bowl as it creates calming, pleasant sounds. Some find that this experience is very calming for them, so it is most certainly worth a try. Along with the sounds his videos are very high quality with a stunning kitchen and superb lighting!

3. Create

The arts are amazing because creating art can clear your mind and help you focus. Art comes in many forms and mediums, so choosing something could be difficult or easy, depending on who you are! Coloring is an easy art form to do because you can doodle pen on your paper and it is now a form of art. Writing is also an art that could be an easy hobby; venting about how your day went in a journal is a very relaxing and expressive art. Singing, photography, cooking, makeup are all forms of art that could be relieving for you and worth a try!

4. Meditate

Do I really have to explain meditation? I will anyway. Meditation is a great relaxer for anytime and anywhere. It helps collect your thoughts and relaxes your body and brain. Doing this after or before something stressful can be beneficial to your health and decision making. All you have to do is take somewhere between 5-15 minutes and focus on your breathing, that's mainly it! To learn more about it you can check out these 20 beginner tips on how to meditate. You also might like to watch this Tedx Talk on Mindfullness; which brings me to my next topic!

5. Ted Talks

Ted Talks may be one of the most fascinating websites I have come across. It is a place to find interesting topics that are unique, important, and life changing. Ted Talks has an enormous amount of different topics you can find here; to choose from such as, "Identity," "Social change," "Art," the list goes on. Ted Talks are very inspirational in most cases, and a great way to cheer you up or distract yourself with endless amounts of amazing knowledge! Ted Talks is also available on Android and Apple products.

So if your day is not going so well, unplug yourself from your surroundings, go to The Soft Murmur, play some nice background noise and maybe do a little meditating! There's many more ways to relax and de-stress. You just have to discover what works best for you and your needs!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
