5 Ways You Know It's The End Of The Semester

Anyone else ready for summer??

5 Ways You Know It's The End Of The Semester
The Huffington Post

It's that time of year again...we all know it. That time our brains turn to mush, the work gets harder and more time consuming and all you want to do is sleep. But here are some definite signs you know the end is near and summer is coming.

1. Your workload

Typically, your workload gets bigger and more time consuming and the days get longer. Professors tend to think we do not have a life so why no give us projects, papers, and exams. Maybe throw in a group project (fun, right??). Nothing worse than a group project in college when everyone's schedules are crazy.

2. Your attendance

If you have a large lecture hall type class you will see probably a third in there towards the end of the semester. Which honestly, why would you give up those free attendance points? We all know at the end of the semester every last point counts.

3. Caffeine

The lines at Starbucks tend to be shorter and the Red Bulls start stacking up. Everyone at this point is sleep deprived and is studying and there are not enough hours in the day. This means that you should add on some time to stand in that Starbucks line before heading to class.

4. The weather

You start to get the buzz when you go from wearing yoga pants and leggings to shorts and tanks. Sunglasses are a daily necessity and you see people in Enos hanging all over campus. More people are studying outside and wanting to feel the missed sun on their skin giving you the itch to take a vacation and let summer begin.

5. Sleep

No one loves sleep as much as me. As we are getting closer to May, all I want to do is sleep. Between working and school, I am exhausted. So I highly suggest not partying it up every night and getting some much needed sleep. Your body and grades will thank you.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
