Midterms, for some they have it easy, having their projects, papers and exams being scattered out a couple weeks before actual midterm week. But then there are some unfortunate people who get the brunt of the blow and seem to have 50 exams 10 quizes and 5 papers all due the same week. Either way, when spring break rolls around, your craving just that...a break. Mentally exhausted from the passing week or week all you want is to snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket and throw on some Netflix. Mentally you are just done. Here are 5 tips to help you restore your mental health after Midterms:

1. Sleep In

You've been up late, waking up early and practically living off coffee for the past couple of weeks. It may have worked in the beginning, but now, no matter how much coffee you drink, you can't seem to keep your eyes open. Well now it's finally time to get that sleep you've been deprived of. Don't set any alarms and just let your body sleep. You'd be surprised how much sleep your body actually needs. And trust me, you're going to feel wonderful when you wake up.

2. Eat Good Food

Just because your home, don't shove a whole bag of mini donuts in your face. Sure they may taste good for a little while, but all the sugar is just gonna make you feel like crap later. Your on spring break which does give you the excuse to pig out, but don't eat junk food all week. So if you really want those mini donuts then go for.. only if your really, REALLY want them though. But consider this, if you eat good food, your mind is going to be refreshed and feeling stellar! Load up on lean meats, veggies and tons of fruit! Your body will thank you!

3. Take A Minute A Chill By Yourself

Nothing is better than just chilling by yourself for a while. You've been around people all semester, and it's not a bad thing. However you have to appreciate those moments when you're purely alone. As you get older, you will find that moments like this become more rare each passing year. Take a second, play some good music and just appreciate the fact that you're alone! Turn away from Twitter Instagram and other social media and just simply be by yourself.

4. Exercise

I've said this so many times in past articles, but my point still remains true. Exercise is a great way to restore mental health. It keeps your mental health in check and your body releases a ton of Endorphins making your mood skyrocket! Plus, it will get you off your couch and stop you from binge watching Netflix all day. Try to do at least 30 minutes of some type of cardio each day! And then you can go back to binge watching Netflix. Everyone wins!

5. Forget About School For A Couple Of Days

Your mind has been on constant repeat the last couple of days. You've forgotten that there's actually life outside of school. Forget about school for the next couple of days. Do something completely not school related. Paint a picture, read a non-school book, go to the movies, pretty much anything. Try to remember that there's more to life than just scoring your favorite cubicle by the window in the library.

There you have it, 5 tips to get the good vibes flowing and your mental health back in check! Good luck!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
