By now, you are settled into your spring semester schedules. Or are you? Mid-spring semester is whenever the spring semester slump comes into play. It's getting warmer outside and midterms are almost here. How contradicting. Here are some ways to finish spring semester strong.
1. Reassess Priorities.
To accomplish goals, you have to clarify them. You should find a healthy balance between: clubs, goals, relationships, working out and whatever else you consider significant in your life. Keeping a clear idea will help you to keep your head on straight and will help to stay motivated and attain goals. Also, getting a planner is crucial.2. Organize Your Time.
Since you have your goals clearly thought out, figure out how much time you can devote to each activity. If you get your 10 page paper that is due Friday done early, as a bonus, you can have extra time to go out with your friends to the bar for Wing Night on Wednesday. You will also have time for that new Netflix series, like Fuller House.3. Reward Yourself.
Sundays should be "Sunday Fundays" and not for recovering from the night before and catching up on all of the homework that snuck up on you overnight (literally) and that is now due Monday morning at 9AM. Instead of staying cooped up inside, visit the lake near school just because you want to take a photo shoot with your sorority sisters, go out to eat instead of eating at the gross cafe again or day drink outside to celebrate making it through the week (and weekend) and because tomorrow is Monday.
4. Don't Sweat The Small Stuff.
Who cares if the boy you like opened your snapchat and didn't respond? Your DM will probably be "poppin'" in a couple of days anyhow. In the meantime, worry about your logic midterm that you haven't studied for. You're never going to not be stressed, lets face it, it's college. Instead of focusing and stressing on the useless things, put all of your focus into important things (like class) to get your sh*t done.
5. Just BREATHE.
It's a new year so don't beat yourself up quite yet. Everyone (even the professors) realize that the spring semester slump is a very real thing. If you take a little time to prioritize, you will finish up the semester in a very fun and productive way.
Keep the bigger picture in mind. It's important to to remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel (where you are reading and writing 50ft long pages). Keep calm and study on! Remain strong and enthusiastic, and look on the bright side, summer is sooner than you realize!
