College is a form of higher education that has become increasingly important in today’s world. Many students across the nation attend college and though their experiences vary, there is one common aspect: college is like kindergarten. I guarantee that if you are, or were, a college student you’ve experienced some kindergarten-like behavior in the following areas.

1. Bathrooms.

The main place that I have experienced childlike behavior is with bathrooms. Above is an actual sign in mine. Yes, we actually need to remind our hallway of 18 through 20 year olds that they need to flush the toilet. This is similar to the, “Flush the toilet, clean up after yourself, and wash your hands,” talk we got from our kindergarten teacher. This is a suitable conversation for four or five year olds, and it apparently is for adults as well.

2. Nap time.

An area where college students go back to their roots is with nap time. Nap time was one of my favorite parts of pre-k and kindergarten. It was nice to roll out your blanket, or little foam pad, and relax. Today, I find it nice to crawl into my bed after early morning classes and have a refreshing nap.

3. Coloring.

College students love coloring! During finals or midterms week, RAs usually sponsor a coloring event. Kindergartners have free time every day where they can color. I always loved bringing in my own coloring book. College goers are no different. If you give them a picture and some markers, colored pencils, or crayons, they’re sure to go to town.

4. Bubble wrap.

How can you resist popping all of the bubbles on a sheet of bubble wrap? If you can, you’re stronger than many. When my RA handed me and my friend a piece of bubble wrap, we excitedly began to pop every bubble. This is the exact reaction I would have had fifteen years ago. Bubble wrap will always be one of my weaknesses.

5. Socialization games.

On the first day of kindergarten, the teacher has everyone introduce themselves. Then, they play games to remember who everyone is. In college, the first section meeting of a student's first year usually consists of the same. Everyone introduces themselves, then icebreakers are played. Regardless of the difference in the type of game, the same goal is reached.

Every college student can agree that they act like a kindergartner in one way or another. It is part of what makes college fun, and less stressful. Whether it is playing a game, coloring a picture, or running around with your friends, you're sure to be like your younger self at some point.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
