For some people getting into the Christmas spirit after you've had many exams and loads of stress for the past two weeks can be difficult. That feeling right after you finish your last exam and can finally actually relax for the first time all semester is amazing. Even still after you get home, immediately getting into the Christmas spirit can be hard in some cases because you're still running off the stress from exams. That's why i'm going to share 5 things you can do to get you into the Christmas spirit, 5 days before Christmas.

1. Gingerbread house

You've been home for a couple days at this point and you've mainly been lying around doing nothing, recuperating from exams. One way to ease your past stress and get into the Christmas cheer without having to leave your house, is building a gingerbread house. If you don't already have a kit at home you will have to leave the couch to go buy one, but after that you're home free. Building a gingerbread house is an easy way to relax and be filled with cheer at the same time. These days you don't even have to choose a house to built because of all the many options available (see my previous article). That is why building a gingerbread house is one easy fun way to relax right before Christmas.

2. Holiday Markets

If shopping isn't your cup of tea, i recommend you skip this number. Holiday markets area huge hit during the Christmas season because of all the decorations and Christmas gifts you can find. If you just feel like strolling around doing some late Christmas shopping, find a local holiday market to go to for an fun afternoon of shopping. Wandering around with all the decorations and Christmas music will for sure get you into the Christmas spirit.

3. Holiday movies

Almost everyone has heart of Freeform's 25 days of Christmas where starting December 1st they play Christmas, and non Christmas movies all day, everyday, up until Christmas. There's also the Hallmark Channel which plays Christmas movies all day everyday until Christmas as well. Sitting down with a cup of hot chocolate and watching some of these movies is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit while also being an relaxing experience.

4. Wrapping Presents

I don't know about you but I love wrapping presents. From big ones, to little one's and every size in between, it's one of my favorite things to do around Christmas. Since it doesn't require leaving the house it's the perfect activity to pass some time and relax up until Christmas. It also helps your parent's or guardians out as well if you chip in with wrapping some gifts. All you gotta do is sit by the Christmas tree with all the needed supplies and have at it.

5. Going to see Christmas lights

Christmas lights and decorations are like the best thing ever to get you in the holiday spirit. If you don't have a local park that puts up decorations like a walking tour or driving tour for you to see then drive around some of the big neighborhoods. There are many perks to this because you can dress comfy and warm while looking at al the lights and sometimes the park will have food trucks around as well serving hot chocolate, or other warm foods. I personally love going to "Christmas in the Park" like activities with friends or family to make for an eventful evening.

Happy Holiday's!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
