The 5 Best Things About Fall

Fall is a season of many changes. Between the leaves changing on the trees and pumpkin spice lattes coming back there is so much to look forward to. Not only do changes occur around us, we have to make many of our own to prepare for colder weather that's coming. Living up north, you can never put your thumb on when cold weather will start so at least taking your winter coat out and finding your favorite pair of mittens is a start to accepting snow is coming. Having around two months of fall is a nice ease into the cold winter that lies ahead. The five best things about fall from least to greatest are:

5. Blanket Scarves.

Blanket scarves are an essential fashion accessory for fall. Not only do they go with anything and everything, you can wear them in many different ways. They are also very comfortable and keep you warm in the cold mornings you encounter. The only problem is when noon comes around you're dying of heat, but luckily they're easy to take off.

4. The Air.

There is something about fall air that just gets me. Maybe it's because there are no more major heat waves coming through and I'm not dying from feeling on fire 24/7. Fall air is so refreshing to many because it's just so crisp. The air is not too cold yet but is't terribly hot it's a nice medium that only sticks around for a couple of months.

3. Shoes.

Fall is such a nice transitioning period because you can wear whatever you want to wear for shoes. You don't have to wear clunky winter boots quite yet, but you can still wear your summer favorite such as crocs or Sperry's and not have to avoid snow piles yet.

2. Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

There I said it! The best fall drink BY FAR is the honored Pumpkin spice latte! They are a seasonal drink that just about everyone looks forward to each year. Throughout the years PSL's have gotten so hyped up its almost too "mainstream" to say you like them. Many like to deny they do but I think deep deep down we all look forward to them!

1. Changing Leaves.

The leaves changing is by far my favorite part of fall! Going for drives up the shore or just around town admiring the beautiful fall colors is such a refreshing thing to do. It amazes me how some trees can be all red, or all yellow, and others can be yellow, green, and red! It truly is a work of nature. Cheers to fall!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
