Sometimes roses and chocolate don't do the trick. So here are 5 DIYs to give to your spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, or friend on Valentine's Day.

1. Scratch Off Valentine's Day Card

This idea is so creative and unique! Basically, you create a Valentine's Day card with special messages on the inside. For instance, you could write why you love them. After, mix paint and dish soap. Apply the mixture to a piece of contact sheet. Then cut out heart shapes from the contact sheet. Peel the backing from the contact sheet and stick it over the message.

2. "Open When" Letters

I feel like this gift can be so personal which makes the gift so much better rather than giving candy. You can put a letter inside or some pictures.

3. Personalized Treat Hamper

This is up to the person giving it to decide what they want to put in the basket. You can put chocolate, a teddy bear, flowers, a card, pictures, coffee, favorite sports team jersey, and many more personalized items. Definitely get carried away when making this present!

4. Picture Board

This idea is super easy and fun! Basically get a frame, twine, clothespin, and pictures. Hang the pictures across the frame. Your other half will definitely love it!

5. You+Me On A Tree

This gift is really cheesy, but very cute! Basically find a piece of long and carve in the initials or names. This rustic piece of wood would look great anywhere in the house. It also reminds you of loved one.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
