Boston is a beautiful city filled with iconic historical landmarks and restaurants. During my freshman year of college, I did some exploring of my own and found some very unique places. This isn’t the typical “5 Places to Visit in Boston” article, it’s more like “5 DIFFERENT Places to Visit in Boston.”
1. Fenway Gardens
I used to take nice long walks through these community gardens during my time at school. It was really wonderful to see all the different gardens and how unique each individual one was to the rest.
2. Harvard Museum of Natural History
As a biology major I was of course in love with this museum. It is located on the Harvard University campus, which is right off the Harvard Square red line stop. Many of the people who work there are retired from the science field and love to share their experiences with visitors. I personally met this wonderful retired geologist who had great stories. If you are into stuff like that I highly recommend you check it out!
3. Black Ink
This tiny store is located in Harvard Square as well. It sells unique knick-knacks that you probably can’t find anywhere else. From retro toys to cute kitchen devices, this place has things you didn’t know you needed.
4. Ho Yuen Bakery
This bakery is quite a hole in the wall. For those of us who are broke and on a budget it is a godsend. You can get beef buns for 90 cents (sounds weird but it is utterly delicious), and so many other cool baked goods you can try out for cheap. This place is perfect for those of you who like trying new things.
5. El Pelón Taqueria
Located in Fenway, this place makes the best burritos EVER. Yes, better than Chipotle. You can’t go wrong with prices that compete with Chipotle, too.
