It seems that every brand of makeup has the same old things—a palette of pressed eyeshadow, a tube of red lipstick—and it can make your makeup routine feel repetitive and just plain boring. With a little searching, however, you can find some of the most interesting (and incredible) products on the market. Here are 5 unique beauty products that you NEED to try!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadows

These eyeshadow pots look like cream shadow, but when they are applied they dry down to a long lasting powder feel. The texture is soft and mousse-like, making it glide easily onto the lid.

Love luxe Beauty Whipped Mermaid Scales

When you touch this highlighter, it feels like lotion. When you rub it into your skin, the glitter flakes (yes, flakes) give your skin the most blinding finish. Whether you wear this by itself or as a base for a powder highlight, your cheeks will be seen from outer space.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip

While these look like normal liquid lipsticks, they are far from average. Their super-pigmented formulas go on as smooth as a gloss, but dry down to a semi-matte, insanely comfortable finish.

Elf Multi Blender Massager

This brush doesn’t look like a makeup brush, but it does wonders to your face. It can be used to apply primer, blend foundation, or set with powder. No more digging for different brushes, because this one does everything!

FCTRY Unicorn Snot

Remember the glitter body gel you had when you were a little kid? Well, it's back. This glittery gel can be used for a highlighter base, an eyeshadow topper, or anywhere, really, that you want a little sparkle.

If you feel like shaking up your beauty routine, these are the products for you. They’re not your average cosmetics, but they are definitely worth adding to your collection.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
