Black Friday is right around the corner. This means that our wallets are about to be hurting (that huge $10 discount really makes a huge difference, doesn’t it? Our sleep is about to be lacking (because what sane person wants to sleep after eating 7 plates of Thanksgiving delicacies?) and our feet are about to be swollen (because it’s the best time of your life walking all over God’s green earth bumping shoulders with every person you walk past to make sure you save 5 percent, right?). Though it sounds like I have a rather negative connotation associated with Black Friday, I do enjoy it. I’ve done many a late-night trip to Best Buy, slept for two hours and went back out to find more deals. Throughout this time, I’ve found a few items that are essential to bring on the trip to ensure a successful Black Friday shopping trip.
1. Chapstick
This item is often overlooked, but you’d be surprised how exhausting it is for your poor lips walking around all day long without any coating on them. Do them a favor and give a few swipes between checkouts.
2. Chocolate
Regardless of how many Starbucks runs you make throughout the day, the importance of the sugar rush you receive from eating a few pieces of chocolate (or your preferred candy of choice) will quickly alter your day of exhaustion carrying around shopping bags to an energizing trek around the mall, accompanied by a few heavyweights around your arms.
3. Portable Phone Charger
None of us have time to sit in the waiting area of a dressing room to charge our phones when mediocre deals are practically flying, am I right?
4. Layers, Layers, LAYERS
Regardless of how frigid it might be outdoors throughout the trek, when people are packed like sardines inside of the JCPenny’s to get an itchy sweater barely on sale, the heat tends to rise (physically and emotionally). Having the luxury to slip off that heavy scarf that was once your loyal companion in the cold air is wonderful when it heats up inside.
5. Sanity
…Check it, folks.
I hope that you take these items into consideration when packing your bags that will be equipping you throughout the day with essentials. Happy shopping!
