With summer in full swing, it's usually the time to get some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Maybe instead of rewatching your favorite show again, it's time to branch out and discover something new! You could easily go for the really popular shows like The Office, New Girl, Greys Anatomy, etc. but there are so many great shows out there that don't get enough recognition. So when you're pressed for something to start watching, here are five other options.

1. Smallville

I never watched this when it was actually on TV and I really never even knew what it was about. Basically, its all about Clark Kent (you know, Superman) in high school learning how to use his powers. It sounds lame, but it really isn't. As a bonus: the lead is played by Tom Welling (aka the hot oldest brother in the Cheaper by the Dozen movies)

2. Modern Family

You would think that since it's been so popular for years that more people would enjoy it but I find that it isn't the case. It is so funny still, even after nine seasons.

3. The 100

This show is all about 100 juveniles who are dropped on Earth to see if it's habitable again after a nuclear attack. It's got action, comedy, romance- it has something for everyone. This came out of left field because I'm really not into the whole post-apocalyptic dystopia thing but when I started watching this show I literally couldn't stop.

4. Worst Cooks in America

The name kind of summarizes what the show is about. It's a really entertaining competition and you actually learn a lot of cooking in the process.

5. Criminal Minds

THE BEST SHOW TO EVERY BE ON TELEVISION I will fight you on that. More people should watch it but I guess that serial killers in every episode aren't everyone's thing. Even if it's creepy you get past it because the cast is incredible.

I need someone to do me a favor and watch some of these so I can talk to people about them. I know it's hard to branch out from your favorites but it ends up being so worth it! Happy watching!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
