5 Most Underrated Horror Movies On Netflix
Eric Ravenscraft

If you're like me, it is so hard to find a movie to watch on Netflix. You pass by the horror movies that seem too cheesy to even try, and end up watching rerun episodes of 'Criminal Minds'. Don't be ashamed, we've all done it. If this applies to you read up! I'm here to save you the heart break of giving up on picking a movie. Here are the 5 most underrated horror movies on Netflix.

1. Don't Blink

This movie is sure to give you the chills. The premise behind this movie is like any other horror movie. A getaway with some friends that find out they are in a not-so-welcome place. At first glance, or about 5 minutes in, you will want to give up fearing it is like all other predictable movies, but don't back out just yet. Once they realize they're alone, that is when the fun begins. Truly, you shouldn't blink - you never know when your friend is going to disappear.

2. Creep

This movie is just that. CREEPY. Do not give up on the slow beginning, or the description which doesn't give it justice. You will soon find about 20 minutes in this movie is something else. Amazing acting and an awesome concept. You will not want to miss out on this. Oh, did I mention it is in documentary style...and mostly from the creeps point of view?

3. Mine Games

If you like plot twists then this movie is for you. Pay attention to every detail no matter how minor it may seem. This movie eventually brings the story line full circle. If you are anything like me... you will scream, not just from the horror aspect, but from the stop-dead ending this movie leaves you with. Be ready to go: "No way! I didn't see that coming!"

4. The Houses October Built

If I could pick one movie that will bring out the deep dark fear that I have- it is this movie. There are evil clowns, criminals paid to scare people, and of course the wayyy too eager horror hunters. This movie is in documentary style, adding to the horror it brings. Do not watch this alone.

5. Beneath

If you have a fear of small places and being trapped this is not the movie for you. More of a thriller aspect, this movie does not get the credit it deserves. Want to see what it's like a day in a mine? Watch this movie with the lights on.

Bonus!

At the Devil's Door is a bonus movie you should definitely watch. This movie is everything you don't want to watch in the dark, and everything you do want to watch in-order to scare yourself silly. Don't take advice from strangers.

These are the 5 most underrated horror movies on Netflix, so grab so hot cocoa, a blanket, and as many friends as you can to get ready for the best scary movie binge watching you could imagine. Just remember - scary movies are better in the dark. Want more movie suggestions or reviews? Follow me, send me a Facebook message or Tweet at me and I'll be happy to help!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
