Fiev Types Of Sports Fans

When it comes to sports, what fan are you?

Fiev Types Of Sports Fans

With sports becoming a larger and larger part of society, more and more people are becoming fans. However, the term "fan" does not have a real narrowed down meaning.

There are numerous different types of fans, let's take a look and see if you are any of these!

1. The Noob

This is generally referring to someone who is just coming into the sports world. They tend to be extremely excitable and eager to learn. They will probably bring a bunch of questions to the table, but it is all out of good spirit. The noob is easy to spot in a group because they probably will not be wearing any sports attire. If you have a friend like this in your group, don't be mean or put them down for asking questions. We all were this person at one point!

2. The Girlfriend

The girlfriend is a fan much like the noob, but instead of asking questions and trying to learn, they will try to use terminology and names to impress you. This has been played out in numerous sitcoms and is naturally funny. This is another one that you need to be supportive of, because after all, they are trying.

3. The Veteran

This fan has been around the block of the sports world. They are familiar with a majority of the rules and lingo. They do not get super excited, but have a level of excitement that lets you know they appreciate the game or moment. If you are either one or two on this list, you should seek out a veteran because they are going to be your best combination of information and toleration.

4. The Band Wagoner

This is the fan who is always in good spirits and probably has a large collection of different teams clothes. However, this name can also be one of the largest insults you can give to a fan. This fan is one of the loudest boasters when they are on the winning side, but crawl away like a cowering dog when they lose. If you go to a regular place to watch sports and see someone who wears a different team every time, they are probably a bandwagon fan.

5. The Die-Hard

This is a fan that you do not want to question or interrupt when the game is on. There are numerous ways to spot this fan: face/body paint, outlandish costumes, loud yelling both good and bad and possibly even a rule book. This is the least tolerant of all sports fans. They will not tolerate your questions, nor will they tolerate you questioning their team. If this is you, you are the most intimidating of all fans!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
