The 5 Types of Posts You Tag Your Friend In On Facebook
Facebook

I, like many other people, am guilty of tagging my friends in almost every funny, cute or interesting thing I see on Facebook. It probably clogs up the feed of every person I am friends with, but that means that they get to see the funny, cute or interesting thing too! It is simply way easier to tag a friend, roommate or sibling in the comments of a video than copying and pasting the link for the video and then texting it to them, plus it spreads the joy! Now, there is some protocol to what videos or pictures or posts are good enough to share with pals, here are the main categories that really matter.

1. Cute animal videos

Let's be honest, the only reason most of us go on Facebook anymore is to see the cute animals. Especially as college students who are away from their family pets and can't afford to own anything other than a pet rock or a fish, it is nice to have a bit of animal in our lives, even if it is virtual.

2. Cute children videos

Less exciting than baby animals, baby humans can be pretty cute and very funny. Kids do the darnedest things sometimes, and people who catch that stuff on video are pretty great too. We can't blame children for doing dumb things because they don't know any better, but we can laugh when they do those dumb things. It's even better because you get to enjoy the entertaining aspect of the child, but it's not yours, so you don't have to take care of it.

3. Food

Let us take this moment to thank Facebook for bringing us Tasty and BuzzFeed Food. There is no better way to spend your time online than to watch hours and hours of recipe videos. Despite the fact that many college students don't have a kitchen or can't cook anything outside of a microwave, we love to taunt ourselves with the idea of delicious food.

4. A picture or post that is related to a funny inside joke (that probably isn't that funny)

Honestly, I do it, you do it, we all do it. We see something that we think is really really hilarious, then we tag a bunch of friends that we think would also find it hilarious. It's actually not that funny. Everyone gets a giggle or two out of it, then we move on. Internet memes fall under this category. For example, damn Daniel.

5. Posts that say "Tag someone who is.../who looks like..."

I'm just gonna say it, these are dumb. Yes, of course I participated the first time I saw one because I thought it was funny, but now they are all over, and less than amusing. Spare us all and our feeds, no one cares that your friend looks like a weird monkey.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
