After receiving the election results this year, the people of America have displayed a variety of emotions. We have seen anger, sadness, joy, praise, violence, heartbreak, optimism, and fear. Whether you agree or not, all of these emotions matter, every person in this country matters, and at the end of the day, only we can make a change. How we treat one another, how we love one another, and how we stand up for one another, will greatly determine who we are as Americans within these next four years. Thanksgiving is here and it is important that EVERYONE remembers who they are thankful for, or who they should be thankful for.

1. Be Thankful For The People Protecting Your Rights

Be thankful for the people who stand with you, and not against you. Those are the people you need by your side. Be thankful for the people who write letters to their local government officials, and get involved in their community. Those are the people who are making the change. Be thankful for the people who will not be silenced, because our voices need to be heard. Be thankful for the people who activate their rights daily in order to make this world a better place. Those are the people protecting your rights.

2. Be Thankful For The People Who Love You

Be thankful for the people who say, "I love you". Those are the people that care about you the most. Be thankful for the people who answer your phone calls at midnight, and check to see of you are alright. Be thankful for the people who support your dreams and choices, even when their views are different. Those are the people who love you unconditionally. Be thankful for the people who love you, because they are the ones you can rely on.

3. Be Thankful For The People Who Will Not Abandon You

Be thankful for the people who stand by your side, during good times and bad times. Those are the people who will never leave. Be thankful for the people who will stand up to bullies and hate, because those are the people who have your back. Be thankful for the people who listen to your problems and provide solutions. Those are the most loyal people out there.

4. Be Thankful For The People Protecting Your Freedoms

Be thankful for the men and women who serve our country. Those are the people sacrificing the most. Be thankful for the parents who leave their children in order to protect your life. Be thankful for the men and women who leave the person they love, because they are devoted to serving their country. Be thankful for the men and women who risk their lives every day in order to protect our freedoms. Those men and women are real heroes.

5. Be Thankful For The People Who Display Acts Of Kindness

Be thankful for the people who want to make the world a better place, because this world needs some love and care. Be thankful for the people who inspire children to be caring and kind individuals, because the children of this country represent the future. Be thankful for the people who reject hate and discrimination, because they are the ones making real progress in this country. Be thankful for the people who help those in need, because we all come from different backgrounds. Those are the people who care about others more than themselves. Those are the people we should all be.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
