5 Types of Security Screen Doors That Protect Homes From Burglars

.

If you want to protect your home from burglaries, then you should install security screen doors. More and more homes are being broken into every year. And the worst part is, these crimes usually happen at night. That means homeowners don’t even realize their property has been targeted until they wake up in the morning.

For this reason, it is important to choose a door that has a level of protection that will keep intruders out and ensure that your family is safe against burglars with excellent service.

Here are 5 types of security screen doors that are proven to provide safety and protection:

Double-Hung Door.

These types of security doors typically have two large panels that slide open. They are great because they allow plenty of light into the room while keeping out the elements. To be able to slide them open requires less effort than pulling them along a track. This type of screen door is perfect if you live on an upper floor or balcony as well. They are also ideal for families with young children who tend to pull things off the shelves.

French Window Door

The main difference between double-hung and french doors is height. A french window door doesn’t have any glass panes so there are no hinges to worry about. Instead, they rely on a sliding panel that moves horizontally with ease. This makes them very easy to close and lock. Plus, because of this design, they can fit through small openings, making them perfect for homes with smaller windows. If you live in an apartment building, consider installing these security doors instead of single-pane glass ones.

Wood-Frame Door

If you prefer something traditional and old school, try adding a wood frame door to your home. It helps make the house feel like a real home again. You can get a custom-built version made by a local contractor or find a pre-made ready-to-install door online. Either way, you will be pleased with the results.

Vinyl Siding

Another option to consider when looking for a security screen door is vinyl siding. Unlike wood frames, vinyl siding can be installed easily and quickly without having to hire a professional. So if you need to do it yourself, you can save money by doing it yourself. All you have to do is buy the material and cut it to size. Then simply apply it to the side of your home and wait until it dries. Once it does, you’re done! But before you do that, however, check whether your area allows exterior finishes. Some cities require you to use exterior paint only, while others permit you to cover it with other materials too.

Glass Door

When picking out your security screen door, think about how much natural light you want to let inside. Are you looking for privacy? Or do you want lots of sunlight streaming through the door? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then a glass door might be perfect for you. In addition to preventing intrusions, glass is also energy efficient. Plus, glass provides a clean look that is easy on the eyes.

Security screen doors help you protect your home against burglaries. But if you don't know how to properly install one, you could end up having a door that does little good. So before you buy one, check out different types of doors!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
