Every so often I find myself in what the Amazon Fire commercials refer to as a 'showhole'. A weird time when you don't have a show to binge watch, or you can't stick to just one show. Usually, this happens right at the beginning of summer, because I have so much more time to watch TV and no idea what to watch. Right now I'm in the middle of a showhole, and watching an abundance of different TV shows. Here are my favorite tv shows as of right now!

1. Bones

This has always been my favorite show. It is one of the few shows that I watch live and really need to keep up with. Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Dechanel) is one of my favorite characters of all time. She is a genius, and complex character, and watch her develop over the years has been mesmerizing. Currently on its 11th season, it was renewed for one last 12th season to start at the end of this year, or sometime in the next. Bones follows a team of forensic scientists that team up with the FBI to solve murders in and around Washington DC. Episodes can be watched by themselves, or chronologically.

Where to watch: Thursday nights on Fox, Netflix, Hulu

2. Political Animals

This is a Netflix Original mini-series that I watched in less than a day. I originally started it because I wanted to watch Sebastian Stan, who gives a stellar performance as TJ, but was hooked by the complexities and motives of the other characters. This series follows the drama behind Secretary of State and former first lady, Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver). She is confronted with scandals stemmed from her cheating ex-husband (Ciarán Hinds), her twin sons (Sebastian Stan and James Wolk), and a political journalist (Carla Gugino). I don't know much about politics but it reminded me a lot of the Clinton's. Overall, it was drama packed and hits a lot of tough issues, such as drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and homosexuality. With five 42 minute episodes, and one 75 minute episode, you'll find yourself wanting more.

Where to watch: Netflix

3. Gilmore Girls

I recently started watching Gilmore Girls from the beginning, in preparation for the four-part reunion special. I have slowed down my binging greatly as I near the end of the series. I grew up watching Gilmore Girls I remember coming home from school, putting on ABC Family, and watching that and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The show is fast-paced, witty, and filled with hilarious jokes. The quick paced dialogue is unlike any other show, and although the drama and relationship quarrels seem, at times, unrealistic, it is an overall great show.

4. Ink Master

Last summer I watched an Ink Master marathon on a rainy day during vacation. I have been hooked ever since. A TV competition revolving around some of the world's best tattoo artists is just as cool as it sounds. Even the worst tattoos on the show, are still amazing to me. Throw in the drama of angry human canvases, fights between artists, and even sometimes love interests, and it makes for the perfect show. Every week someone is knocked out during the elimination tattoo, and the season ends with a live finale featuring the top three artists. The last one standing is crowned the Ink Master.

Where to watch: Spike.com, Hulu

5. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

When this first came out on Netflix I watched it in maybe two days. I was crushed when I finished it. Finally, after months of waiting, the second season came out. I watched the first few episodes, slowly but surely I have been nearing the end of the season, watching sporadically since it was aired. Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) was locked in a bunker as a part of a cult since she was a child. Now a grown adult, she has to make herself a place in the world. Hilarious and ridiculous, you are never not laughing with this show. Cameos from famous comedians, such as Tina Fey, and Anna Camp, make the show that much more entertaining.

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
