The 5 Best Trips I Have Ever Taken (And You Should Too)

This is a list of my favorite vacations. This is a personal list, however, I think everyone could enjoy these. These trips can be taken anytime of the year. Through the list, I will give some of my favorite attractions and a few hotel options.

1. Disney World, Orlando, Florida.

What says magic like Disney? Disney is a great place to visit for people of all ages. Whether with family, friends, or a significant other you are sure to have a great time. They have many different parks, rides, and entertainment to choose from. If you aren't a ride person, no worries. There are plenty of shows, restaurants, and shops to keep you fully entertained. One of my favorite hotels there is Pop Century Resort. It is a kid friendly hotel with a pool and an arcade.

2. Washington, DC.

While this is more of an educational type trip, there is plenty to see. There are wonderful tours you can take on a bus, segway, or bicycle to see the monuments. I took the segway tour and really had a great time. I was very nervous, but after a short lesson, I was able to roll around the city. Disclaimer: You must have a valid driver's license to ride on a segway. There are also plenty of food options, and Pentagon City which will cover all of your shopping needs. There is so much history there. Our nation's capital is one of the most beautiful cities in the nation, and everyone should go see it.

3. Corolla Beach, North Carolina

I know what you're thinking. Surely this is somehow photoshopped, but it's not. On Corolla Beach there are wild horses. Legend has it that when the Spanish came over they had to leave their horses. Over time, the horses learned to adapt to their surroundings and have been there ever since. This was by far my favorite thing about this trip. My family and I stayed at a bed and breakfast where they had a "moon room". It was our room in the hotel, and at night the moon would shine perfectly through a window. While this is a bit of a drive from DC, it is definitely worth the wait.

4. Dallas, Texas

Dallas is a very cool city to visit. The 6th Floor Museum where President John F. Kennedy was shot (pictured) is a very interesting attraction. It has all of the history of the Kennedy Presidency, and has a mock set up of where Lee Harvey Oswald shot. The Gaylord hotel is also a lot of fun. At Christmas, it has an ICE show where there is snow tubing, shopping, a scavenger hunt, and a gingerbread making activity. It is sure to make the kids very happy and excited for Christmas.

5. Las Vegas, Nevada

This is a fun place for adults and children. I know what you're thinking... How can it be fun if I'm under 21? Well, there are a lot of other things to do besides gamble. There are plenty of shows, malls, and restaurants to go to. Also, the Hoover Dam offers a wonderful tour and is another great option. Vegas has a lot to offer! But sometimes, it just takes a little bit of research!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
