We all love to travel. But now it's not only expensive, but it's stressful. I've been fortunate to have been able to travel almost yearly for a majority of my life. Below are some of my favorite hacks and tips. They range from helping you get through security faster to saving money where you didn't think you could.
1. Roll Don't Fold
When trying to save space when packing you should roll up clothes. It not only gives you more space, but you can also bring a bit more while still staying within those weight limits that cause us all so much anxiety. Because honestly who hasn't been within a half KG of going over?
2. Food & Empty Bottles
I'm always baffled by people who don't bring food with them. Because not only have I always gotten it though TSA successfully, but airport food has a HUGE markup and airline food is also overpriced and usually not that tasty. Also, we all know we can't bring full bottles past TSA but you can usually bring empty ones, and in fact, many airports have water fountains right after TSA so just fill 'er right back up and you're all set.
3. Aisle & Widow Seats... ALWAYS
Always and I mean ALWAYS book an aisle and window seat when booking for 2 people. That way if it's empty you get a whole lot more space. But if it ends up taken you just kindly ask to switch with the person who has itnand I guarantee you'll still get to sit with you traveling companion. But you might lose that isle seat.
4. Add on Luggage
I noticed something major when booking my first few flights I'll be taking around Europe- adding on luggage. You know how budget airlines have really cheap seats? Usually making you pay extra for luggage? Or you can buy seats that include checked luggage? Well, do the first. Add it on. In the end, it only saves you like $10 USD, but when you're taking 3 flights that save enough for another flight.
5. Wi-Fi
In today's world, there's a constant need to be connected. Most airports now allow free (but limited) wifi usage. There's now a map of all those airports, so stay connected and be sure to tell your family you arrived safely without getting charged insane fees.
