5 Top Haunted Houses In Wisconsin

Needless to say, I never really thought I would be writing about haunted houses because I still am very hesitant with them. Nonetheless, I have conquered my fear (sure let's go with that) of going into haunted houses. How do you know which ones to go to? Which ones are super scary and which ones are mediocre? Which ones are cheaper and which ones are extremely expensive? In all reality, do we want to pay that much money to be scared half to death? I don't know! Maybe!

These are all the things that need to be taken into consideration. So, which haunted houses are worth your time, money, and sanity?!

1. Abandoned Haunted House Complex

Just the name having "abandoned" in it makes it seem creepy. This is one of the best haunted houses in the Midwest! It is located in Mount Pleasant, Wis. There are many reviews for the Abandoned Haunted House Complex, and they all raved about it, and it got a 4.5 out of 5 star rating. "If you like haunted houses, you DON'T want to miss this one." "Very detailed scenes, music fit the area, actors that knew how to scare us!" "Definitely best scare I've had in a while!"

All of the things we search for in haunted houses people!

2. Forest of Freaks

When it says forest in the title, it means an actual forest, this is not just a theme! Forest of Freaks is located in Janesville, Wis. It is known as Wisconsin's longest and scariest outdoor haunted forest! Forest of freaks website even states that their "facility is Wisconsin’s longest outdoor haunted forest, featuring a choose-your-own-path adventure, amazing special effects, monsters, scary clowns and more, all living in an outdoor haunted forest." Clowns = yikes and hard pass. Those of you who are brave enough, enjoy!

3. The Factory of Fear

The Factory of Fear is located in Racine, Wis. This is one is not a forest or outdoor, in fact it is the exact opposite. They plan to give you nightmares for days through their century-old abandoned warehouse. This one is different in that they have three different levels, so to speak. First one is called Devil's Nightmare, which they say will include everything from zombies to psychopaths. I don't even want to know what that means! The next level, if that one just wasn't enough for you, is called Blind Madness. This one is pitch black, and you can't see anything! That is absolutely terrifying, and if you have enough courage for that, props to you. The last level is called the Last Ride, and this one signifies your coffin and burial. You literally lay in a coffin. Holy cow, yikes!

4. Burial Chamber Haunted House Complex

This one is located in Neenah, Wis. Burial Chamber also got a 4.5 out of 5 star rating. The ratings also said things such as: "Best haunted house around! We usually get the fast pass and go to all three attractions," and, "Burial Chamber has three awesome haunted houses. It is hard to scare me, and I am very picky about haunted houses; but this one is amazing." Sounds like it is definitely worth the drive getting there!

5. Mars Haunted House

Mars Haunted House is located in the city near you, Milwaukee! It is known as one of the best haunted houses in Milwaukee and has a 4.2 rating out of 5 stars! They claim to be Milwaukee's only truly HAUNTED haunted house. Just keep in mind, when you're walking through and something pops out and scares you, is it part of the set?

Enjoy your haunt hunt!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
