It’s the beginning of a new semester and that means everyone is bringing their germs back to campus! People are sniffling in the library, couching in class, and sneezing in the dining hall. With all these germs floating around everywhere how can you stay healthy?
1. Wash your hands.
This seems like a no-brainer but so many people around campus don’t wash their hands. Before every meal and after every bathroom break you need to lather up with soap and warm water. You should also wash your hands after touching something commonly used by other people such as the keyboard of a computer in the library.
2. Take Emergen-C.
It tastes disgusting but it gives you the extra boost to prevent colds. If you drink it once a day the chances of you getting sick decrease dramatically. If you wait until you’re already sick it won’t help as much, though.
3. Go to the gym.
Working out and being in shape keeps your body alert and ready to fight off diseases. Just make sure you wipe down all the equipment before and after you use it. You never know who sweat on the machine before you did.
4. Eat your fruits and veggies.
Eating healthy should be something you practice all year long but it especially important this time of year because it keeps your immune system strong. You can’t fight germs on an empty stomach.
5. Invest in Clorox wipes.
Wipe down your door knobs once a day and make sure you disinfect any surface someone who is sick touches. Germs camp out in places like the library so make sure you sanitize after using the computers.
Avoid getting sick and missing out. No college student has time to be sick. There is too much work and too many fun activities to do!
