It is finally here. The last full month of school before the much-needed summer break that all of us students need. Before we can have this glorious sunny weather and no school work we have to basically go through hell to get there.

Studying for finals, working on projects last minute, extra credit work in hopes to pull up your grade at least a little bit, and more studying. There is also crying and screaming that comes along with those things but, that's normal by now.

Here are a few tips on how to survive this horrible month before sweet summer.

1. Just do your work.

If I haven't learned anything else from being in college but this that is ok with me. Always do your work. It is really just going to hurt you in the long run and then you're going to be cussing yourself out wishing you would have just done what you were supposed to do.

2. Cry

It really helps. After having a short (or long) mental breakdown because you are so stressed and overwhelmed by all of the work you have to do in such a short time you will feel much better (or worse). But hey, at least you know you're not the only one crying!

3. If you get the chance to do extra credit, DO IT!!

Extra credit will be your best friend always if you ever get the chance to have it. So, if your professor even mentions the word extra credit, be EXTRA, and start on it right away and go ahead and turn it in. (Your professor will honestly probably be very surprised at how fast you turned it in seeing how all of your other assignments were turned in late.)

4. Take some time to yourself

When it comes to stressful times and having to do a lot of work you always want to make sure that you do give yourself some time to have fun or just relax. Never get too over your head. Your mental and physical health is so much more important than hurting yourself over school work. So, just push away from your laptop and go outside to get some fresh air or go hang out with friends. Just know that after having a break you need to get back on top of your studies and then get a good nights rest. (Or just drink your stress and pain away!) Kidding... kind of.

5. Keep thinking about summer

If you keep thinking about the long break from school you are about to have, time will go by a lot faster. Hopefully. This whole school year has flown by so far so, I think we can get through a month of agony to be able to enjoy our break without a worry in the world. Or, if you're like me you will probably be taking summer classes and be working so you don't have to look forward to. YAY!

Anyways, the point is to not get so stressed and overwhelmed by college. It will all be over before you know it. Just like high school. Then, we will all be wishing we could go back to college when we are thirty with kids and twenty-five pounds heavier.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
