As we all know, midterms are coming up soon. So that means long walks to the library, minimal sleep, and just being straight up tired. Here are some tips that can help alleviate some stress and take very little time.
1. Don't do things that you don't want to do.
Saying "No" to something or someone isn't the end of the world. You need to focus on what you are doing, and if it is not something that you want to do then you will not enjoy doing it and that will contribute to exhaustion, and stress levels.
2. Take it all as it comes.
The farther in advance that you prepare for these things the more stress will accumulate. Yes, for a test you should study in advance, but you shouldn't study it all everyday. Study a little everyday to help retain the information. Also, you could end up overworking yourself and crash before you even take your midterm.
3. PRIORITIZE
If you feel like you don't have enough time to study everything it's because you are not prioritizing the right things and not managing your time wisely. Prioritize your subjects in the order from what you don't understand to what you do understand so that you can spend the most time on the things you do not understand. However, also leave time for basic human needs like food, and sleep, and hygiene. Prioritizing things and managing time better will help reduce the amount of stress you may experience during this time.
4. Ask for help.
If you are struggling in a subject, just ask for help. I know that here at Auburn there are so many study aides available to us like SIs, free tutoring, and study partners. You could also just ask someone in your class, after all we're all in the same boat and if they don't have a good grasp on the material either maybe y'all can help each other and study together.
5. Allow yourself to breathe.
Yes, it is midterms, but they are not the end of the world. Allow yourself to relax occasionally and just breathe. If you are a freshman you have 3 more years of midterms to go. If you are a senior these are your last midterms! You can overcome them but not if you have a panic attack and overwork yourself about them, they are just another test to take and if you approach it like that then I'm positive you'll be fine!
I hope that some of these tips helped y'all! Good luck with midterms and tests in general, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
