Men, your role in conceiving is just as important as the woman's. In order to even get pregnant, the sperm has to be healthy to reach the egg. Many obstacles such as lifestyle and environmental factors can interfere with the fermenting process. Dr. Jared Robins, Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Northwestern Medicine's Fertility and Reproductive Medicine in Chicago has stated that when there is a known cause of infertility, problems in the male partner tend to account for about 40 percent of infertile couples.

Here are 12 tips for men who want to conceive.

1. Shed Some Pounds

Men who are overweight may have a decreased sperm count then a man who has the right BMI. When you are overweight, there are many hormonal changes in your body. Those hormonal changes decrease sperm count and make you feel less interested in sex in general. There are very simple changes you can make to improve your weight. With a healthier eating plan and exercise plan, you will be one step closer to achieving a normal weight and improving your sperm count. https://daa.asn.au/smart-eating-for-you/smart-eati...

2. Improve Your Existing Health Conditions

Men with health conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes may decrease the flow of sperm. Getting these conditions under control will drastically improve your chances of fertility. However, medications that are used to treat these common conditions could possibly have a negative effect on fertility. A doctor should be consulted on what methods to use in order to get the best of both worlds. A holistic approach may be what is needed in this situation.

3. Eat Healthier

Research has shown that men who eat an unbalanced diet and drink alcohol regularly are killing their sperm. The safest bet for men is to get a healthier diet and drink less alcohol. A little more specifically, men should be intaking more vitamin c, zinc, folic acid, and take a multivitamin every day. http://natural-fertility-info.com/male-fertility-d...

4. Exercise Regularly

I know this tip sounds just like the first one but believe me, it's not. Exercising regularly reduces stress and has many other benefits for all. Working out will make you feel better about yourself, therefore you are gaining confidence. This tip is more of a mental strategy to keep you on the path of fertility but is also a physical one. The key is, do not over do it. If you strain yourself on a unrealistic exercise regimen then you are hurting yourself more than you are helping yourself. The only exercise I would leave out of your schedule is cycling. You never know, research has shown that it can decrease sperm.

5. Ditch The Cigs

Smoking is a known cause to damage sperm. Mohamad Eid Hammadeh, PhD, professor of obstetrics and gynecology a the University of the Saarland, Homburg/Saar, Germany has done a study on men that smoke and men who do not smoke. Hammadeh has finally found the reason why smoking causes infertility. When a man has higher free radicals then men who do not smoke, that is what causes the infertility. It is recommended that men should stop smoking three months before trying to conceive.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
