5 Tips For Young Entrepreneurs by Manish Sharma

Being successful often means learning from those who have already achieved their goals. Having a mentor is an amazing blessing to an entrepreneur, but not everyone can find one in person.

The reality is that a lot of entrepreneurs are self-taught, and they've learned a lot of lessons the hard way. Thankfully, it's never too late to learn from their mistakes and become more successful in the future.

Here are 5 tips by Manish Sharma for a young entrepreneur who is starting a business:

1. Draft a Business Plan

This might seem like a no-brainer, but many young entrepreneurs don't think to write down their business plans. The business plan is a great way of outlining your goals, identifying potential risks and rewards, and developing more specific ideas on how to accomplish them.

You can even use the business plan to prove that you're capable of succeeding if you ever run into any trouble with demanding loans.

2. Take Risk

We don't know what keeps young entrepreneurs from pursuing their dreams, but we think what scares them most is the fear of failure. You have to go for it if you want to succeed and don't let doubt rule your thinking.

A lot of small business owners are surprised by how challenging it can be to own a business. You can't imagine how many unexpected problems or complications a business owner might encounter at any given time. But, the truth is that if you're not willing to risk failure, then this whole journey just isn't for you.

3. Take Actions

You will get a lot of ideas when you're starting a business, but it's going to be difficult to implement them all. It takes a lot of work and determination to make your business successful, so don't expect things will just fall in place.

Taking action doesn't necessarily mean that you have to invest a huge amount of money in your start-up. If you want to spend as little as possible at first, then the main thing you need to do is market your business effectively.

4. Build Your Team

You can't succeed alone. You will need good people in order to take care of the business and keep it running smoothly. Attracting the right people is one of the most important things you can do, especially if you'll be working without a salary for a long time.

Of course, there are going to be several other things that prevent your business from launching successfully, but at least it won't be all because of your own fault.

5. Always Deliver More Than Expected

If you want to be successful, then you have to deliver more than expected. In the beginning, you can't afford to be paranoid about meeting all your business expectations. You need to be realistic and expect the unexpected.

"In order to succeed in business, you need to hire people that are smarter than you".

-Bill Gates

So, these are 5 simple tips that anyone who wants to start a business should read. They are basic principles that no matter how young you are, you should already know about. They'll be helpful not only for the first steps in your business life but also in the future.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
