5 Tips For Nail Salon Etiquette
Review Trackers

For many people, visiting a nail salon is a normal, bi-weekly occurrence. For some of them, salon etiquette isn’t well known. Salon etiquette is important. As a client, you are paying someone to provide you a service. By keeping the following tips in mind, you’ll enhance the nail salon experience not only for the staff and fellow clients but also for yourself.

1. Tip.

Please do it. An expert is providing you a luxurious service. Appreciate your technician. A little bit goes a long way, but twenty percent goes even further.

2. Make an appointment.

Walking in is no guarantee. If you want to be sure to get in for your services, make an appointment in advance – at least twenty-four hours in advance if possible. Not only will it give you peace of mind, but it will also guarantee you a spot in the busy schedule of a popular salon.

3. Be on time.

If you make an appointment, show up on time. Show up five minutes early if you can. If you’re going to be late, call ahead. It’s common courtesy.

4. Be aware of your surroundings.

Clients visit a salon for a relaxing experience. As a customer, speak softly to others, don’t take calls, don’t FaceTime (yes, I’ve witnessed this happening multiple times), and don’t complain. Understand that there are others in the salon paying to have a tranquil experience.

5. Be kind.

Say ‘thank you.’ Cooperate. Be appreciative. Chat with your technician. Ask her how her day is going. A little bit of kindness can go a long way, and you might even make a friend in the process because, let’s be honest, nail technicians make great friends to gossip with and catch up with every other week.

Spending time in the nail salon is a normalcy for many people. By following these five simple rules, you’re respecting others, respecting your technicians, and bettering the experience for yourself.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
