5 Tips for Buying the Best Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

It was not possible to keep your skills sharp while gaming. It requires time, effort, and practice to develop the quick reflexes to compete at a high level. Fortunately, some mechanical gaming keyboards can help you improve your game. They make it much easier to execute precisely-timed key presses by reducing the distance between each key and the mechanical switch underneath it. This allows gamers to press a key and have its signal registered immediately without delay registering that input. These switches are also durable and responsive enough that they don’t lose their responsiveness after several months or years of use. However, many different types of mechanical keyboards are on the market, making it harder to find the right one for your needs. Here are five tips for buying the best mechanical keyboard for your unique setup as a gamer:

Research the types of mechanical switches available

The first thing you should do when shopping for a mechanical keyboards is to research the different types of mechanical switches available. There are many different types of mechanical switches, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. You’ll want to find one that fits your playstyle and skill level. Some of the most common types are Cherry MX Blue, Red, Brown, Black, and Silent. Do some research to understand what makes each type of switch special, and figure out which one is best for you. You’ll want to consider how comfortable the keyboard feels when gaming, how easy it is to press the keys, and how loud it is. In general, you’ll want to choose a mechanical switch that gives you the best balance between tactile feedback (the amount of force it takes to activate the key) and sound. Mechanical keyboards are often louder than regular ones, but their sound is worth the sacrifice.

Check for crucial rollover and N-key rollover support.

Mechanical keyboards are excellent for gaming but aren’t as useful for people who spend a lot of time typing. This is because mechanical keyboards often have low and N-key rollover support. Key rollover is the number of simultaneous key presses that the keyboard can recognize. N-key rollover is the number of simultaneous keypresses that the computer can recognize. This means the keyboard or computer will ignore any keypresses that aren’t registered. For example, if the keyboard has low key rollover and you want to press Shift + E, it may not register the E key if you press it too quickly after pressing Shift. Mechanical keyboards often have low-key rollover and N-key rollover support to ensure the switches don’t miss a keypress. The keyboard is highly responsive and accurate, but it isn’t perfect for typing. You’ll want to ensure the keyboard you buy has a high enough key rollover and N-key rollover support to meet your needs. If you spend a lot of time typing, you’ll want to find a keyboard with high key rollover and high N-key rollover support.

Check the durability of the keyboard’s build

Mechanical keyboards are built with mechanical switches and metal housings. These materials make them more durable than regular keyboards, but they aren’t indestructible. You’ll want to make sure the keyboard you buy is built with durable materials. Ideally, you want the keyboard’s housing to be made of metal. You’ll also want to ensure that the keyboard’s keycaps are sturdy plastic. Keep in mind that a keyboard’s durability doesn’t just depend on its materials. It also depends on how well its components are put together. For example, a keyboard may have a metal housing, but if the manufacturer assembles the keyboard poorly, it may not be as durable as it could be. Please ensure the keyboard you buy is well-built to last for years.

Know how many USB ports it has

Some mechanical keyboards have USB ports, but many don’t. If you want to plug in a mouse or a controller, you’ll need to ensure the keyboard has a free USB port. Some keyboards come with hubs that allow them to have more USB ports. This can be extremely helpful if you need multiple ports. Before making your decision, check how many ports the keyboard has. You’ll also want to know if the keyboard is designed for PC or Mac. Mechanical keyboards designed for PC aren’t the same as Mac keyboards. They have different designs, and some are not compatible with Mac computers. Make sure you know your computer type before buying a mechanical keyboard.

Check how loud a mechanical keyboard is before buying

Mechanical keyboards often make more noise than regular ones. While this might not be a problem in a gaming setting, it could be an issue in a shared workspace. Some keyboards are louder than others, so you’ll want to check their sound levels before buying. You can find out a keyboard’s sound level by reading reviews by other users or checking the manufacturer’s website. You can also use an app like Sound Meter to measure a keyboard’s sound level. This can help you determine which keyboards are too loud for your workspace. Keep in mind that every mechanical keyboard makes different amounts of noise. Some are quieter than others, but it’s up to you to find the best one that suits your setup.

Conclusion

Mechanical keyboards are excellent for gaming but aren’t ideal for everything. Keep these tips in mind when shopping for a mechanical keyboard, and you’ll be able to find the right one for your needs. When shopping for a mechanical keyboard, you’ll want to make sure you understand the different types of switches available, including how each one feels when pressed. You’ll also want to check the durability of the keyboard’s build and make sure it has enough USB ports for all your gaming accessories. Mechanical keyboards are great, but they’re not for everybody. If you work in an office environment where silence is preferred, you may want to avoid mechanical keyboards.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.
