Thousand Oaks is notorious for being a beautiful place. People constantly visit from all over the place and even desire to live here. Can't blame them, it is peaceful and the scenery is even better. People will enjoy just driving through and admiring it.

If you are a teenager who lives in Thousand Oaks you will soon realize that there isn't much to do. The place is peaceful during the day, but at night it stays the same. But if you are looking for something to do while in Thousand Oaks, whatever reason may be, here are just a few ideas.

1. Camarillo Outlets

The shopping area has a lot to offer for anyone and everyone. If you are just simply bored or if the money you have is burning a hole in your pocket, you can come and stay there for hours. It will entertain you for hours. The place is big, so be prepared for a lot of walking. The stores have a lot to offer for people of every age, so you are guaranteed to find something

2. Paradise Falls

Is it hot but you're are not feeling up for going to the beach? Well, this may be a good idea for you. If you just want something that can keep you cool on the hot day, then go. You can take a few friends with you while you are at it. The drive won't be long, the parking won't be as bad as it would be at the beach, and you also wouldn't have to deal with the large amounts of people. So if you are the type who isn't a fan of crowds than go and take a look for yourself.

3. The Oaks Mall

The mall in the area is also a beautiful place. The stores have a lot to offer to people of all ages. It's indoor so you can go even on a rainy day. If you are just simply bored and can't think of anything to do, then go there. There are a lot of options for food, many stores you can walk to if you want to walk off your food, and there is also a movie theater that you can go to.

4. Hiking

Is it a warm and a beautiful day? If you are not up for spending money and have too much energy then this is the activity for you. There are many options for hiking, even in your own backyard. You don't have to go out of your way to find a good hiking place, just put on your workout outfit, take your dog or your friends along with you and go whichever way you feel like. Just remember to bring water with you, especially if you are going on an adventure of trying out a new trail. There is a lot to enjoy in Thousand Oaks and the beauty even lingers in your own backyard.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
