Laundry in the real world and laundry in the college world are both surprisingly not the same. "Laundry is laundry, how could it be so different?" you may ask; you just put the clothes in and play with some buttons. I am here to tell you that they are two different worlds.

1. "You'd think the line for the washing machine is a line to meet Beyoncé."

Why is it always that your whole building decides to do laundry at the same hour of the same day that you want to?

2. "Why the heck does the timer say zero on the dryer yet your clothes are still there..."

I have been waiting for 10 minutes now for you to get your clothes so now I'm going to politely put them on the table...

3. "Colors and darks are the same here."

Yes, I have also been guilty to throw some whites in with them too. Did anything ever happen to my clothes when I did that? No. Now that I said that via the Internet, will I ruin my clothes from putting darks and lights into the same load? Probably.

4. "Crap, I forgot a sock and the washing machine door locked."

Once that door is shut and that button is pressed, your clothes will remain there for the whole cycle. There is no opening that door. So check your laundry basket twice before pressing that button!

5. "Oh look, the washing machine is broken...again."

And yes, I have been guilty of breaking one the first week of class. But don't worry if you do, because 99.9% of the time, you did nothing wrong. Sometimes they just feel like ending your cycle with your clothes still in a huge puddle.

So, there you have it. College laundry thoughts in a nutshell. It's definitely more than just a press of a button.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
