Everyone knows the struggle.

You anxiously plea,"Just a trim." Sitting in THE chair, you pray that your hairdresser has the same definition of "a trim" as you do.

Maybe you are extremely specific, "just one inch off, please," but will they really listen?

As large chunks of your hair litter the floor, you're plagued with these 5 thoughts:

1. "At least the next time I step on the scale, I will weigh less. She'since she's cutting off pounds of my hair."

A little dramatic, sure. But your hair can feel so much lighter after a big haircut that you can't help but wonder.

2. "You could collect all my hair off the floor and make it into a wig, and I only asked for an inch off."

Maybe the large pile of hair on the floor is just deceiving??

3. "How can I ever trust anyone again?"

Letting someone take scissors to your hair is a pretty big deal. Sure, it will grow back, but not for a while. When you ask for something very specific and your hairdresser betrays you, how can you ever trust again?

4. "If only I were famous, than at least all the extra hair I didn't want cut off could be sold on ebay."

It wouldn't be weird to casually collect some into a bag before leaving, would it?

5. Prepping yourself to give the best fake "oh wow, looks great!" when the hairdresser is done cutting it.

"OMG wow, I wasn't expecting a bob; but it looks great, you are a genius!"

Next time you get a bad haircut, remember that you are not alone. It will eventually grow back. In the meantime....stay strong.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
