You can fly!

Study Abroad, a once in a lifetime opportunity that college students all over the world participate in. A big part of the study abroad trip is the flight there and back home. As someone that has never flown before and taking her first trip across the world, there are a lot of things running through my mind.

1. I have to take my shoes off?

While going through security, I had to take my shoes off? How sanitary is that? How many other people have had their shoes off and stood this this spot today? What if someone has a foot fungus that I am now at risk of getting because have my shoes off.

2. Why did I have to be here two hours early?

My flight left at 6:35 and was delayed 10 minutes. By the time I was checked in I still had an hour and a half until my flight was scheduled to take off. There are a lot of things I could have done in that hour and a half that I couldn't do once I got past the security checkpoint.

3. Do people realize what they are doing?

Seriously, the airport is the best place to people watch! There are some people that are running, some people running in to poles because they are too busy on their phone, the things people do here are crazy!

4. What's the deal with Airline food??

Really, what is the deal with airline food? It is so gross and nasty looking. I don't know why they expect us to eat it.

5. Am I really flying?

The entire time I was in the air, I couldn't help but think how is this multi-ton piece of metal staying in the air. I was scared.

Even though I have now flown once, I will probably still have these thoughts. Flying is very convenient so I'll continue to fly when I travel

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
