Ok so everybody's college experience is different. Some know what they want to do, others are just finding out what they want to do after switching schools around a bit (me!!!!).
And of course you learn things when you move schools a lot. Here are some different things I learned :
1. It didn't work the first time around but that's okay
Most students transfer because their current school wasn't offering what they really needed to pursue their dreams. Some of us needed a change of scenery while others left due to financial reasons. These are our most important years right now and if you have to go through different routes to find your happiness then Do you Boo boo.
2. Go to Orientation
I'll admit the word orientation sounds scary and unappealing to most. It can be very terrifying meeting new people and doing those silly activities that student affairs set up but, orientation can be very informative. You can find out who your teachers are, where all your classes are, if there's tutoring for your major and where the food is (i love food).
3. Join a club
When you have free time from your classes or you just want to be apart of something a club should definitely be your go to. I know you probably want to stay holed up in your room watching the latest episode of your fave TV show but, joining a club can be a great way to make new friends and feel like you are apart of your school.
4. Do the work
Try to set little goals for yourself because remember at the end of the day you are there for a reason. So if you stay focused and do what you gotta do then things should fall into place.
5. Be you Boo Boo
You don't have to change yourself just because you are at a new school. No sense in trying to be something that you know you're not. Plus that's major stress in your life that you don't need!
Transferring can be overwhelming, lots of students do it so you'll live. It's not the end of the world so make the most out of it.
