If you're reading this list, being punctual is probably not one of your strongest personality attributes. Being on time is sometimes just biologically impossible for some of us; it will never be part of who we are. No matter how hard we try, it seems as if we are racing the clock our entire day. Whether you are a five-minute late type of person, or a "show up when I'm damn ready" type, there's a chance all five of these things apply to you.
1. You constantly underestimate how long it is going to take you to get out of bed.
Setting your alarm clock for an hour before you have to be somewhere is never early enough. After hitting the snooze button over five times, you realize you have two minutes to get ready and get out the door.
2. Your friends begin telling you to arrive places 30 minutes before you actually have to be there.
After realizing your inability to be on time, your friends start telling you to meet them at 7:30, when the reservation is really for eight. Don't be too offended, we all know you will probably make it there by 8:15 at the earliest.
3. You have to be a little creative when your friends ask "Where are you?"
Sometimes you texting "Yeah, I'm on my way" can really mean "I just got out of the shower, I haven't blow dried my hair, or picked out what I'm wearing yet. Hopefully, I make it there before you guys leave." You've also probably been stuck in more "traffic" than anyone else in your friend group.
4. You are constantly rushing to get ready when you are going out.
While all your friends are already on their second drink of the pregame, and have been ready for hours, you seem to still be in a towel searching through your closet for a top. Forget even having your makeup done yet.
5. When you are on time, it is a big surprise to everyone.
Hey, every once and a while you get your sh** together and actually make it somewhere on time. When that happens, revel in everyone's shocked faces. Mostly because this probably won't happen again for a long, long time.
Being on time might not be the easiest for some of us. It doesn't matter how early we get up, or how soon we start to get ready, we will always be late. We will also be amazed at those of you who can make it to a place more than five minutes before the start time, and we will always be jealous of the better seats you will inevitably snag at the movie theater. Hey, the first step to admitting you have a problem is recognizing it right? Now get off this list and get moving, you're probably running late to something.
