1. You have senioritis.
Of course, as a senior in college it's expected to find yourself with a bad case of senioritis. You're so close to that graduation date, and getting your cap and gown and figuring out how to decorate your graduation hat take up more time than you'd like to admit. You're just so grateful that there's not going to be any more school in your life (at least for a little while), that you don't worry too much about what actually happens when school is over.2. At the same time, you're scared to graduate.
On the other hand, graduating means taking on the real world, with a career job in your future with salaries and benefits, when you can barely do your own taxes. Also, hello student loan bills. Even though school is your safe haven, you're willing to let go and take on new learning experiences the rest of the world has for you. And, if anything, you can always go to grad school.
3. You're going to miss your school.
This school that you've called your home for the past few years is about to be waving goodbye to you and welcoming a fresh batch of faces to create memories with. This school has seen plenty of laughter, tears, anxiety attacks, and drunken stumbles - and that's all just from you. Starting over somewhere new doesn't sound as fun as staying in your comfort zone, but you don't really have a choice. It's time to leave the nest, regardless if you actually want to.
4. Your 'major' classes are the best.
When you were done with core classes and could finally focus on your 'major' classes was the next best feeling to being a senior. Nothing is more exciting than being able to choose classes that have everything to do with what you actually care about (which means no more math or science for me, hell yeah!), and getting the opportunities to learn anything and everything about your major is amazing. It's a realization - and a test - to know what you're good at and what your true passions are.
5. The job search is exhausting.
As a senior, you've already started the job search for your career. You feel an immense amount of pressure to find a job right out of school, especially since this is supposed to be the job you're hoping to have the rest of your life. If you have an internship, you might be lucky and get offered a paid position there. If not, you're all too familiar with interviews and resumes.
Being a senior in college is always accompanied by a cocktail of emotions - excitement, fear, frustration, anticipation, etc. But regardless, you know this is what you've been working towards your whole life, and how proud you feel of yourself for making it this far is one of the best feelings. Now go forth, and succeed at what you do best.
