Tuesday is Election Day and while I do care about the outcome and the future of our country very much, I did not want to write a political article or discuss my political views. So instead, here are 5 things I would much rather do than watch Tuesday's election.
1. Binge-watch "The Walking Dead"

"The Walking Dead" became one of my favorite shows two years ago. The suspense, the character development, the special effects...this show is one in which you can easily watch an entire season in just a few days.
2. Refresh my mind
Go for a long, relaxing walk away from any media or billboards, like in the Boston commons and Beacon Hill to forget about all the anxiety the election is causing. Seeing the last of the foliage will make you happy and forget about politics.
3. Cook myself something special
Find a yummy, simple recipe of something you love or have always wanted to try and spend the afternoon taking your time, listening to some relaxing music, and filling your home with the smells of something new and delicious.
4. Celebrate National Pancake Day
November 8th is not only Election Day, but it's also National Pancake Day. I don't know about you, but I would much rather celebrate pancakes than celebrate the election.
5. Write the next biggest hit
Inspiration comes in waves for me, and watching the election, sitting on the edge of my seat, for hours will take up valuable time where instead I could be writing and being creative. So I would much rather sit at my piano and let lyrics and music flow out of me than sit in front of the television all night waiting to hear the results of the election.
