I don't know about you guys but I have many days where all the things in my life aren't going the way I planned at all.

Sleeping past my alarm, burning my toast, forgetting to put on my deodorant, anything that could possibly go wrong, goes wrong. And of course, when all these things go wrong, I feel the WORST. I don't feel energized, I don't feel ready to take on my day, I don't feel good enough, and the least of all do I feel pretty.

As I have gotten older and these days have increased in number I have learned some things to do to combat my worst days.

1. You're allowed to have bad days.

When I'm having a bad day, most of the time I feel like a failure at life because I look around at the people surrounding me and think, "what are they doing to where they're not having the worst day ever." Comparison is the worst thing you can possibly do on your worst days. Remember, everyone has bad days.

2. Remember that it's just a bad day, not a bad life.

I've noticed that when I'm having these bad days I become filled with depressive thoughts and lack hope for the future. I become so dramatic and once I start thinking negatively it just become like a spiral of doom that is never ending. But joy comes in the morning, and it's so true. Your life is not determined by your bad day. Your dreams, your hopes, your love is still alive and true.

3. Listen to your favorite song/music.

There is nothing like a good song to boost your spirits and literally change your entire day. Believe me, it's happened. I just blast some T-Swift and feel right at ease with her lyrical melodies and angelic voice. Music is a tool we can use to snap us out of our funk and bring us some good vibes.

4. Make a list of things you're thankful for.

There is nothing more powerful to stop your negative thoughts right in their tracks than thinking about all the good things in your life. And it doesn't have to take a long amount of time, just going throughout your day thinking about things in your life you love and make you feel blessed.

5. Vent to a good friend.

Releasing all the bad, helps let good in. Talking and putting into worst of how you are feeling is a very, very freeing thing. Saying all these things brings light and takes away all the power that your negative emotions have over you. A lot of the time I don't feel like talking, I don't feel like expressing anything. So even a hug from a friend can heal your spirits.

You are not made up of your mistakes, you are made up of beauty and wonder and love. Let that be your anthem on your worst days.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
