Life can be pretty stressful, especially now, in the season of post-midterm depression, college application overload, and more. Here are 5 verses/quotes that give me some peace and encouragement that you can read in less than 5 minutes.

1. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

(That's my all time fav, hands down.)

2. "God give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, the courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other." -Reinhold Niebuhr

Maybe I'm writing this more for myself than anyone else, but just let me say this:

Thank God that we have such an awesome God who is with us through all times (to clarify, by this I meant ALL TIMES). Take a deep breath, take time with Him, and take heart.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
