C’s Get Degrees.
I’m not suggesting that you aim to get C’s in all of your classes. What I’m suggesting is that when it’s a Thursday night and the choice is going out with your roommates or finishing up that last homework assignment, it’s okay to pick going out sometimes. Actually, its preferred. You can’t enjoy college if you spend 100% of the time stressed about your school work. Find the balance between your social life and your school work.
Self-Care is Still Important.
It always seems like there is no free time to just sit back, eat popcorn, and watch a movie, but you have to find time to just do you. If you keep going going going you’re going to crash, and then what good was all the work you’ve put in?
You Have Resources. Use Them.
College is hard, and it only gets harder. However, there are plenty of resources on campus to help you get your school work completed and the best it can be. With things like the writing center, academic center, and counseling center, you don’t have to feel like you’re completely stuck and alone. Use your academic resources! And if you get stressed, use the counseling center.
Keep in Touch with Your Family and Friends From Home.
Being away at college means being a grown up. Doing your own laundry, cooking your own food, and cleaning your own room. Don’t forget sometimes it still okay to need your parents. Keep in touch with them, and don’t forget to see how your friends are doing, too.
Don’t Take any Moment For Granted.
College is the time of your life. You’re always going to remember it. It’s your first taste of freedom and the adult world. Make the most of every moment, take lots of pictures, and make lots of friends. It’s so worth it. You’re going to grow so much in this time period and figure out who you are. It goes by much faster than you realize.
