5 Things to My Future Person

People constantly tell me that there is someone out there for me and it'll take time. I always have doubts about that, but know I shouldn't. It can become difficult sometimes to watch all your friends get into relationships. I'm always happy for them, but it always makes me wonder where my person is and if he even exists. If he is out there, then I have a few things I want him to know.

1.) I love the simple things. I will never ask for fancy dates, or expensive things. To be honest that's not fun for me. Fun to me is sitting by a fire, camping, making breakfast for dinner in our pajamas, movies and much more. I love car rides with the windows down and music up going the back roads in fall. That's the stuff I live for.

2.) I love animals, especially dogs.I am very passionate about animals and you will learn that quickly. If we're out in public and I see a really cute dog I will stop to say hi for a few minutes. Yes, you will lose me to a dog, but I will come back at some point.

3.) I'm all about family and friend relationships. I love to spend time with my friends and family. It actually bums me out when I miss out on events with them. We can be an obnoxious group from time to time, but you'll grow to love them as much as I have and soon enough you'll see why I'm crazy about them.

4.) I love adventures. I can't always sit still. Sometimes I like going on day trips out of state, in state, or to the beach. I will be happy going anywhere if it's with you. Adventures are one of my most favorite things in life.

5.) I will listen and learn. I will always love listening to you tell me about your passions and what you love. I'll never get bored. I will watch your favorite movies with you, listen to your favorite songs and just learn about you.

So wherever you are, if you even exist I am waiting to meet you and get to know you because for me it'll be the greatest adventure yet.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
