Have you ever wanted to just record yourself doing random things and put it on YouTube? Well, I did, and I can say it has been pretty interesting. At first I was just vlogging about my life at college and my friends, but I realized that’s not what I really wanted to do. So I sat down and asked myself what I really love and what I wanted to show. Then an idea came to me! I love k-pop and I started to realize that reaction videos to anything k-pop related were popular on YouTube. So about a little over a month ago I changed my channel to “The K-Pop No Chill Zone.” I turned this into a channel where I can react to any k-pop videos; usually they are music videos or live performances. I also vlog about the k-pop world, and whatever I find interesting. I have learned and noticed a few things while becoming a YouTuber and I want to share them with you. Here are the top five things you should know to become YouTuber.
1. Pick a topic near and dear to you
If you want to start a YouTube channel, you need to find a topic that you really love to talk about. It is OK to talk about multiple things, but you need to have a few topics so that you can have a flow of ideas for videos. So I talk about k-pop and all my videos are k-pop related.
2. Always find a quiet spot to record.
If you are just straight up vlogging or doing a reaction video, you need to find a nice quiet spot to record. This helps reduce background noises and distractions and helps the viewers just focus on you. If you are at home, maybe try to do it in your room or a secret place in the house. I’m at schoo,l so I try to record in my room or in my friends’ room.
3. When recording, be yourself!
Always be yourself, because people can tell when you are faking it. Honestly, when you are yourself you won’t even realize how long you have been talking for. For my first video I was super nervous, but I pushed through it and at the end of the video I had talked for about 10 minutes. The more you can be true to yourself the more you are able to talk about the topic, and before you realize it you are going to be super comfortable with vlogging.
4. Be prepared to edit your videos.
One thing I learned real quick is editing. I had no idea how to make reaction videos or how to put a video or picture inside a video. I was completely clueless on video production. Thank God for YouTube tutorials! Now I consider myself pretty decent in video. So if you don’t know, just look up YouTube tutorial and find and video editing software.
5. Enjoy Yourself!
Last but not least, have fun with it! Just keep going with it and don’t give up! Success might come your way and you won't even know it!
I hope this helps if you want to become a YouTuber! Reach for the stars my loves! Also, if you want ideas or just want to check out my Youtube channel, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDqDJwp5l7FKHNrCt...
