As the second semester begins, sometimes it's a little hard to finish. Luckily here are five simple products that can help you be more successful this semester and others to come:

1. A Planner

I can not put into words how much having a planner in college has not only helped stay organized for school, but life in general. A lot of us having busy lives and owning a planner just help keeps everything on track, from homework assignment due dates to your weekly yoga sessions. You can purchase them for $10 or less (mine was $5 and works great) or opt to install one on your phone.

2. Aromatherapy

Although this is needed literally and figuratively, Bath & Body Works* carries an aromatherapy line in which a scent properly named Stress Relief. I'm an avid user of the Stress Relief lotion and hand sanitizer. If you're also sleep deprived like me, there is a Sleep line.

* Bath & Body Works is currently having their semi-annual sale, which means these products are ridiculously cheap!

3. Snacks

You can not learn if you are hungry, you can not study if you are hungry, you can not focus if you are hungry. You should always have (preferably healthy) food with you at all times to give you energy to tackle the day.

4. Water Bottle

Keeping hydrated helps you to be more healthy and have more energy. Drinking more water will solve a lot more of your problems than you think.

5. A pillow and/or blanket

College can be rough, sometimes we all just need to take a nap in the middle of the library...

That's it! I hope these five tips help you through second semester like they helped me through my first. Good luck and may your Blackboard be ever in your favor.

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
