Whether you’re coming home for the holidays or simply coming home from college, there are plenty of things you should remember to cherish. The Christmas holiday is fun until the 26th, but the holiday break is one well worth it! With the holidays right around the corner and the freezing cold weather, here are some things you should remember for your Winter vacation!
1. Family. Spend countless hours with them while you can. Whether it be sitting down watching a movie together by the fire or traveling for the holiday season, always remember your family!
2. Home-cooked meals. Everyone bakes during the holiday season and there are always treats in the cookie jar. Whether you’re far away from home or away at college, the home made food is to die for. Don’t forget to taste an extra slice of that pie or steal and extra cookie from the jar!
3. Time. Before break everyone is overwhelmed with finals and work. Enjoy having time to yourself and time to spend with family and close friends. Also spend your time catching up on things you don’t have time for during the semester, whether it be finishing a book or writing for fun!
4. Holiday Pictures. Remember seeing those pictures of you sitting on Santa’s lap as a child? Look and see how you’ve aged over the years and laugh at all the funny things that happened in those pictures.
5. Movies and Music. Holiday movies are AWESOME. Watch as many Christmas movies as you can (don’t forget Elf or The Santa Clause) and listen to the music on your local channel (and listen to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” as many times as you can until you get sick of it).
The holidays are a wonderful time to spend reconnecting with yourself and with others that you don’t get to see during your time away at school. Take the time this holiday season to make it feel like Christmas and to get back on track with life besides school or work!
