We all have those one or two classes that no matter what we do, we simply cannot seem to keep our eyes open. Maybe it's the professors voice that is dragging you into a state of complete blankness. Maybe you just really hate the subject and would rather throw yourself down the stairs instead of sitting there. We've all been there. Here are some things to do when you are losing your mind in class and need to stay awake.
1. Count the lights in the class
This sounds like the stupidest thing ever, but I swear you will be somewhat more entertained and the professor will just think you are thinking about a question very hard.
2. Make a tally of how many times a word is used
This will either keep you listening, or make you realize how annoying it is that a certain word was being said 38 times in the past 20 minutes.
3. Think of what each person in the class would be as a animal/food/utensil
Also sounds like a strange thing to do, but trust me it's a good way to make the class move faster. Once you realize that Dylan in the front row reminds you of a butterknife, you'll never look at him the same again.
4. Make a new playlist
You'll look like you are taking notes, but in reality you are creating a fire playlist. Don't actually take out your phone, this defeats the whole purpose.
5. Rename everyone in the class
Erica is now Debbie, Syd is now Fiona, David is now Lip... oh wait these are just the Shameless characters.
We're all just looking forward to the nap we are going to take after a dreadful class. Maybe these ways can help you stay awake in class and try not to check what time it is every 4 minutes.
